Music
“The Great Dying” (Album-November 14, 2025 · The Big Dark Records)
Sad Dad Autumn’s debut full-length concept album explores grief through the story of a girl traveling through different levels of hell—and maybe death. The record blends myth, memory, and dream into cinematic, melancholic soundscapes that move between folk intimacy, indie grit, and cosmic expanse.
Focus Tracks
Gut Punch (October 10, 2025) A more intimate folk ballad that captures the feeling of late-night heartbreak—indie folk woven with dreamy synths.
Alpha Cas (September 19, 2025) A mix of alternative dark folk and cosmic indie rock builds from grief to rage, creating a cinematic portrait of a young girl betrayed and cast among the stars, her anger burning in the night sky.
“The BlackBird Manor Sessions”
Debut EP (June 2025 - The BIG DARK RECORDS)
The Blackbird Manor Sessions (2025) marked the band’s first release — a collection recorded at their family home, Blackbird Manor. Rooted in intimacy and experimentation, it revealed their mix of alternative indie and dark folk and laid the groundwork for the ambitious full-length arriving in November 2025. Stand out tracks: Lethe & Snowstorm.
Short BIO
Sad Dad Autumn is a Seattle sister trio crafting dark folk and alternative indie songs that balance myth, loss, and cinematic atmosphere. After their debut EP, The Blackbird Manor Sessions (June 2025), the band returned with Alpha Cas (Sept 19), a cosmic retelling of the Cassiopeia myth that grows from earthy folk beginnings into dreamlike crescendos. Their latest single, Gut Punch (Oct 10), dives deeper into the emotional underworld that shapes their forthcoming concept album, The Great Dying—arriving November 2025.
Long BIO
Raised in a family where music is both legacy and lifeblood, sisters Leah (20), Lily (15), and Lilah (11) create under the name Sad Dad Autumn. Blending alternative indie, dark folk, and post-rock textures into a sound both mythic and intimate, their music explores grief, denial, and the strange beauty that lingers at the edge of endings. Through layered harmonies and cinematic atmosphere, they build worlds where folklore and cosmic imagery intertwine.
In June 2025, the trio released their debut EP The Blackbird Manor Sessions, introducing listeners to their moody harmonies and genre-blurring approach. The EP earned local attention through festival performances and playlist features, laying the groundwork for their next chapter.
That chapter began with Alpha Cas (Sept 19, 2025, via The Big Dark Records), a cosmic retelling of the Cassiopeia myth that rises from earthy folk into dreamlike crescendos. Their follow-up single, Gut Punch (Oct 10, 2025), is a more intimate track that captures the feeling of late-night heartbreak—indie folk woven with dreamy synths.
Both singles offer an entry point into The Great Dying (arriving Nov 2025), Sad Dad Autumn’s debut full-length album. This ambitious project expands the trio’s sonic palette, moving between folk intimacy, indie grit, and cinematic expanse. If the EP was the seed, the album is the full bloom—a testament to the sisters’ deep collaboration, artistic ambition, and growing presence in the Pacific Northwest music scene.
