“Alpha Cas” (Sept 19, 2025 · The Big Dark Records)
Alpha Cas" begins in dark, earthy folk before unfolding like a Greek sci-fi dream—epic and surreal. Written by a rising sister trio in the alt/indie scene from Seattle, this mix of alternative dark folk and cosmic indie rock builds from grief to rage, creating a cinematic portrait of a young girl betrayed and cast among the stars, her anger burning in the night sky. For fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Ethel Cain, and Daughter.
“The BlackBird Manor Sessions” - Debut EP (June 2025 - The BIG DARK RECORDS)
The Blackbird Manor Sessions (2025) marked the band’s first release — a collection recorded at their family home, Blackbird Manor. Rooted in intimacy and experimentation, it revealed their mix of alternative indie and dark folk and laid the groundwork for the ambitious full-length arriving in November 2025. Stand out tracks: Lethe & Snowstorm.
Short BIO
Sad Dad Autumn is a Seattle sister trio crafting dark folk and alternative indie songs that balance myth, loss, and cinematic atmosphere. After their debut EP The Blackbird Manor Sessions in June 2025, the band now returns with Alpha Cas (Sept 19), a cosmic retelling of the Cassiopeia myth that grows from earthy folk beginnings into dreamlike crescendos. With more singles on the horizon, Alpha Cas is the first glimpse of their most ambitious project yet: a full-length album arriving November 2025.
Long BIO
Raised in a family where music was both legacy and lifeblood, sisters Leah, Lily, and Lilah create under the name Sad Dad Autumn. Blending alternative indie, dark folk, and post-rock textures into a sound both mythic and intimate, their music often explores themes of denial, grief, and starlit wonder, told through a lens of folklore and cosmic imagery.
In June 2025, the trio released their debut EP The Blackbird Manor Sessions, introducing listeners to their moody harmonies and genre-blurring approach. The EP earned local attention through festival performances and playlist features, laying the groundwork for their next chapter.
That chapter begins with Alpha Cas (Sept 19, 2025, via The Big Dark Records), a cinematic retelling of the Cassiopeia myth. What starts as an earthy folk progression blossoms into a layered, dreamlike arrangement that feels as vast as the constellation it’s named for. It’s a song about myth, betrayal, and slow-burn anger — refracted through the band’s signature mix of haunted melodies and soaring crescendos.
Alpha Cas marks the first in a string of singles leading to Sad Dad Autumn’s debut full-length album, arriving November 2025. This ambitious project expands the trio’s sonic palette, moving between folk intimacy, indie grit, and cinematic expanse. If the EP was the seed, the album is the full bloom — a testament to the sisters’ deep collaboration, artistic ambition, and growing presence in the Pacific Northwest music scene.
